Compensation and Schedule for the Financial Benefits Coordinator
Financial Benefits Coordinator – Full-time, onsite, $19-$22 per hour, Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm. Great opportunities for growth!
Required Qualifications of the Financial Benefits Coordinator
- 2+ years of recent financial services experience in a medical practice required
- High school diploma or GED required
- Must successfully pass a criminal background check and drug screen
Responsibilities of the Financial Benefits Coordinator
- Present quotes to patients to sign off on
- Communicate terms of Financial Policy to patients for full comprehension of payment expectations
- Successfully obtain estimated patient responsibility for all assigned service lines, communicate estimated responsibility to patients, and collect estimated patient responsibility portion of claim
- Work collaboratively with billing department and front desk to ensure there is a complete understanding related to patients’ financial plan
- Handle Point of Service Collections for outstanding balances
- Set up payment plans within practice guidelines for patients who cannot pay balance in full
- Assist patients with financial applications
- Educate applicants regarding terms, interest rates, and re-payment obligations
- Process accounts following the procedures outlined in department’s policy
- Be courteous to patients while educating and communicating expectations
