Compensation and Schedule for the Medical Scribe 
Medical Scribe – Part-time after training, onsite, $18-$21 per hour, Monday to Friday, 24-32 hours per week. Excellent opportunity for a medical student to work with this healthcare system! 

Required Qualifications of the Medical Scribe 
- 1.5+ year of recent scribe and adequate typing experience required 
- Bachelor’s degree highly preferred 
- High school diploma or GED required 
- Must successfully pass a criminal background check and drug screen 

Responsibilities of the Medical Scribe 
- Document the history of illness and physical examination performed by physician or NP as dictated 
- Document procedures, results, progress notes, and treatment records as dictated by physician 
- Enter diagnosis codes and discharge instructions 
- Enter patient’s past medical, social, and family history into EMR system  
- Check on progress of labs, x-rays, and other evaluations to provide to patient  
- Retrieve reports and information for physician to make determination of next steps with patient  
- Access medical records on behalf of physician using EMR system
