Compensation and Schedule for the Surgery Procedure Scheduler
Surgery Procedure Scheduler – Full-time, onsite, $20-$23 per hour, Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm. Join a great team with room for growth!
Required Qualifications of the Surgery Procedure Scheduler
- 3+ years of recent procedure or surgery scheduling experience required
- Prior medical assistant experience preferred
- Referrals and authorizations experience required
- Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred
- High school diploma or GED required
- Must successfully pass a criminal background check and drug screen
Job Summary for the Surgery Procedure Scheduler
Provide support with the daily activities of procedure scheduling for Cardiology procedures, registration, and patient referrals. Interact with patients, staff, providers, and other professionals to schedule patient procedures as directed by the physician. Coordinate patient needs to facilitate patient care planning and create a positive experience for the patient as well as internal customers.
Responsibilities of the Surgery Procedure Scheduler
- Coordinate operating rooms, equipment, anesthesia, pre-op labs and imaging, authorizations, and physician schedules for surgeries
- Act as a liaison between the patient, provider/referring physician, primary care physician, and other parties involved in the surgery/procedure to include distribution of pre- and post-operative information to the patient
- Gather and record financial and insurance information and ensure authorizations are obtained prior to the procedure/surgery
- Complete full patient registration in IDX when registering new patients
- Ensure all patient information is updated and current when following up or interacting with patient
- Very insurance eligibility and/or benefits
- Use IDX system according to policy and procedures, including patient registration, scheduling appointments, template oversight (as applicable), printing forms and schedules, posting payments and charge reconciliation
- Effectively utilize IDX downtime procedures as needed, and report any issues with system
- Provide additional clinic support as needed to ensure clinic is running effectively and productivity measures are met
