Compensation and Schedule for the Pathology Lab Technician 
Pathology Lab Technician – Full-time, onsite, $25-$33 per hour, flexible hours. Great office to work in with huge opportunities for growth! 

Required Qualifications for the Pathology Lab Technician 
- 2+ years of recent Mohs surgery tissue processing experience required 
- ASCP Histotechnician (HT) certification highly preferred 
- Bachelor’s degree in a scientific field required 
- High school diploma or GED required 
- Must successfully pass a criminal background check and drug screen 

Responsibilities of the Pathology Lab Technician 
- Handle specimen storage, preservation, and identification 
- Freeze tissue and cut frozen sections with a cryostat machine 
- Stain and place tissue on slides through operation of an automatic stainer 
- Label and store slides 
- Transcribe diagnoses  
- Prepare and mix solutions used in Mohs lab 
- Handle materials and reagents 
- Maintain and review all equipment and materials in the lab 
- Maintain and update OSHA and CLIA records 
- Record daily temperatures of cryostat 
- Maintain quality control logs for slide review 
- Maintain log for patient identification system 
- Assist Histotechnician with processing of permanent sections as necessary
